5 tips to compete with AI

I have seen people crack prompts for ChatGPT to act as a therapist. I know people who use it to write Instagram captions and newsletters. I use it as my personal assistant.

In a world where we are fooled by algorithm and technology so much so that we don't know what's real anymore, what is going to make a difference is sharing more and more of your humanity.

2025 is gonna be the year of personal brand. Not a polished version of you which you carefully craft, but raw, vulnerable you.

Sharing highs and lows, and connect on a person to person level with each individual who enters your online sphere.

There is a loneliness epidemic and yet we are more and more connected. People crave real interactions from humans.

So how can you disrupt their doom scrolling and stand out in their feed ?

Show your face

Show your real face without a beauty filter, without make up, hell without cosmetic enhancement if you want (I have nothing against them, but it would be nice to see a wrinkle once in a while). Talk to your audience in your stories. Leave the awkward pause. Share the emotion.

Share your story

Why are you where you are right now? Why do you do what you do ? Of course there's no need to trauma dump 🤔 However we get inspired by someone whose story feels like ours. Allow your audience to see some vulnerability.

Post about your day-to-day

This might be controversial idk but I find super refreshing to see when a brand founder I follow tells me about their cat puking on the carpet. It makes them tangible. It takes me on a journey. Will they clean the cat puke before their toddler wakes up ? I want to know!

Reach out to people privately

I have started doing this recently when I have new followers or someone who's been furiously liking my content. I say hi, with no expectation of an answer, i just want them to know I welcome them.

Get out of your house and meet people IRL

Seriously. You're not gonna feel less lonely by staying online. This is advice I got from Charlotte a while back and I am very grateful for it. Because whilst I have built my business primarily on social media, I didn't realise how much I craved real interactions. Go to a yoga class, a networking event, whatever.

We need real people ! Even the most grinch grumpy loner of them all crave them. Community is what makes us strong.

I like AI as it saves me a lot of mental gymnastics but the ramifications of where it's going is scary.

Be you šŸ’›
